Burns Night at The Storey Museum
Saturday 25 January 2025, 19:00 - 22:30

Join us for a Burns Night with a difference!

Celebrating the legacy of Robert Burns, national poet of Scotland, this special museum late event features a packed programme of music, poetry and dance – plus an opportunity to explore The Story Museum’s galleries after hours.

Live Poetry: The Whispering Wood

Immerse yourself in the atmospheric Whispering Wood with the wonderful Creation Theatre and enjoy dramatic readings of Burns poetry.

Ceilidh in The Woodshed

Join the dance in a lively Ceilidh with live folk band Sun Bird, who’ll perform traditional classics such as Gay Gordons, Strip the Willow and Dashing White Sergeant. New to Ceilidh dancing? Have no fear, each dance will be called out by the band members, so you’ll pick up the steps and be reeling before you know it. Expect top tunes on fiddle, mouthorgan and guitar, and perhaps a few on bagpipes, too.

The Magic Common Room

Create your very own poetry inspired zine in the Magic Common Room with Imperfect Bound.

Eat and Drink

The café will be serving small bites between 19.30-21.30 and the bar will be open until 22.00. (Please be aware that age ID will be required at the Bar.)

Tickets

£25 (£15.00 for Students)

Ticket price includes all activities, exclusive all-evening access to the museum galleries and a visit to the magical Talking Throne.
